Find your balance with mindful practice

Welcome to Hey Yoga

The name Hey Yoga was born while teaching yoga to children in daycare centres.

Each time I arrived, I was greeted with excited smiles and cheerful calls of, "Friends, Yoga is here!" Despite singing "Good Morning Kate" together at the beginning of every class, many of the children are convinced  my name was actually Yoga. Their curious minds would eagerly raise questions that almost always began with, "Hey Yoga...?"

The name stuck, and so did the joy that came with it.

After more than two decades serving as a police officer, it is a privilege to be welcomed into spaces filled with curiosity, connection and genuine enthusiasm. Whether I am teaching in a daycare centre, a yoga studio, a community organisation or a trauma-aware class, I am continually inspired by people who are open to learning, growing and caring for their wellbeing.

I believe yoga is for everyone. My teaching is grounded in creating safe, inclusive and accessible experiences that support physical health, emotional wellbeing and meaningful connection.

This website has been created to share information about my yoga journey, the studios and organisations where I currently teach, resources for participants attending information sessions and trauma-aware yoga classes, and details of upcoming training, professional development and study.

Thank you for visiting. I look forward to sharing the journey with you.

Kids Yoga

Kids yoga is a playful and engaging practice that introduces children to yoga through movement, breathing, mindfulness, games, and storytelling. Classes help develop strength, balance, coordination, focus, self-awareness, and emotional regulation in a fun, age-appropriate way while encouraging creativity, confidence, and relaxation.

I currently teach with Yoga Bears and Breathe and Flow Yoga

Corporate wellness

Revitalise your workplace with guided movement, posture correction, and mindfulness breaks for Brisbane teams.

I currently teach with Yogamigos where I have conducted classes for international businesses, private events and school camps.

Mums & Bubs Classes

Mum and baby yoga is a gentle, nurturing style of yoga designed for  mother and baby to enjoy together. The practice focuses on supporting postnatal recovery while encouraging bonding, play, and connection.

This is a new qualification for me so I am currently offering karma classes for mother's groups in the Northwest Brisbane area.

Classes are designed for new mums at least 40 days post birth with babies up to 1 year old.

A medical certificate for mother and baby is required to participate.
